Okay Hi.

So this is my first post, in this blog.

Well this is gonna be a somewhat journal about my time here is Switzerland. I'm really really lazy to write everything down in my journal book. So, yeah, here goes..

Well I arrived on 24th Feb, Friday. Took KLM and honestly, I don't know what's wrong, I was super thirsty on the flight, and I pressed the cabin call. Nobody showed up, even though I pressed more than 5 times. It was really frustrating. Reached Amsterdam at 6am.

Now, Amsterdam was another unforgettable experience. Alex and the gang gave me a snow globe, well, a PICTURE globe. It has LIQUID inside. I don't know how it got pass Malaysia security, but in Amsterdam, they saw the globe from the X-Ray machine, and I got hold up. The line behind me was asked to go to other lines, and they were calling everyone to see what was on the X-Ray screen. A lady made a thorough check on my BODY, yes, touching me everywhere, and started asking me questions, at a really close range. They asked "Who gave you that" "Why haven't you open the present" "Why did they give you" "What are their names" "How long have you known them" "Where do you know them" "Where are you from" "Where are you going" and so. It held us up and made us run to our boarding gate. We were NOT the last passengers, thank god. And they made me throw away the gift, without looking at the photo.

Okay. When we reached Zurich Airport, some AFSer and our host families were there to pick us up. My host family was there and they introduced themselves. We got into the car and they had to go to Lucern to buy the ski jacket for the dad, Andre. The car was too high and couldn't go into the underground parking, so they made an illegal parking in front of the shop. While they were inside, the police came and gave them a summon. 100 Francs, if I'm not mistaken. I was like.. HOLY SHIT.. They do work FAST.

Everything was okay. I unpacked and tried to deal with jetlag.

So now, 27th Feb. My first day in Deutschkurs.

I had to take the train from Hasle to Luzern, then from Luzern to Olten. My host mom, Franzi, went with me to Luzern, and pointed out which train for me to Olten. I went to Olten myself and met up with Pei San and the other AFSers. In the Deutschkurs, I met Pei San and Jun Khee (I've already known them :\), Panyada (Kook) from Thailand, Camilo and Laura from Columbia, Nicole from Costa Rica, Saho and Yuka from Japan, Maruly from Panama, Ana from Paraguay, Harry from Australia, Catherine from New Zealand, William from Peru. It was fun. Learned few German words, and our 2nd teacher didn't know any English, so it was really funny. After Deutschkurs I took a different train back to Luzern, and from Luzern, I took the wrong train.

Yes, this is a long story.

I was supposed to get on to the train on Platform 11A. I thought Platform 11 means Platform 11A. So obviously I got into the wrong train. I didn't notice anything until I checked my watch. I was scheduled to arrive in Hasle around 5.50pm. But it was 6.15pm already. Something is definitely NOT right. I called Franzi, and got off the train. She told me to get the next train to Luzern, which I have obviously NO idea. I checked the schedule and it was 1 hour later. I was stuck in some place with an M and W something. I panicked. I was alone there, and there was NOBODY. I tried to intercom the information box, but once the people know that I don't speak German, they hung up. Twice. I literally sweared at the information box. I was so scared, I cried. I know that's baby of me, but all I could think of is Malaysia. Suddenly I miss my family a lot. I miss my parents a lot. They would know what to do if I were in Malaysia, and they would drive out and fetch me. Not to say my host family isn't good, but the place that I got stuck in, they don't even know where is that. I wanted to call home back to Malaysia, but it was late and my parents would most probably be sleeping. So I called a friend. I called Ding. I just needed someone to talk to at that moment, and I was crying on the phone. I just needed to know that I have someone "with" me that time. After that, Franzi phoned the train station and asked them to call me to tell me the timetable for the train. It was helpful, but I got on the wrong train again. But anyhow, I managed to get back to Luzern, and from Luzern, I finally know which Platform I was supposed to board the train. I reached Hasle train station at around 8pm and I was really really super glad to see Franzi there waiting for me. Apparently, when she left from Luzern in the morning, she called the German teacher and ask him to pass the message to me that the train I needed to take home was in Platform 11A, which was different from Platform 11. But unfortunately, the teacher didn't tell me anything. Franzi was mad. But now all that matters is I got home safely, maybe emotionally scarred, but I am stronger now.

Yesterday William asked if I wanted to go to Basel for the Fasnacht. Basel is too far from Hasle and from what happened on Monday, I really don't dare to go. But I wanted to experience the Fasnacht SO MUCH!!! >< Aih I guess safety comes first.

Tomorrow is my birthday. My friends from the Kantonsschule wanted to meet me so tomorrow I am going to Schupheim to meet them after the Deutschkurs. I should sleep now. Bye.
